lewisboats
What do you think of her? I would like some opinions of it before I give out more details... kind of a raw first impression. One bit of info...I didn't build it. Steve
lbrewer
I like it. It's certainly roomy and stable looking, and appears that it would still row well with a couple more people aboard. Larry
Denis Goyette
Nice Boat Well Done
lewisboats
Now for the info...This is the first build of a Duckskiff, a humble design effort of mine. Plans are free exclusively from Duckworks...on the plans page. This guy did a really nice example and I wanted to show it off a bit. Bill Paxton
That's a nice looking boat, Steve. Clean lines, not complicated, practical yet smart looking. I think you've got a winner. Bill
lbrewer
I had seen the plans on the duckworks site. Cool!. Looks great! Larry
Mike Pennington
Link? I have been wanting to build a lake boat for fishing
lewisboats
http://www.duckworksbbs.com/plans.htm ...down on the bottom "Duckskiff" click on one of the links in the article. Thanks for all you folks' kind words...if anybody decides to build one...please send/post pictures. I will add that the sides of this one were raised slightly (about 2") from the original plans so if anyone wants the "high shouldered" version let me know. Mike Pennington
Steve, that download is a book You must have hours upon hours of time invested in this boat. I copied the down load to paper and will find a note book for my copy. Thanks for the plans, and yes, if I choose this boat I will send you a photo log of the construction. At this point I will most likely build the motor version, but the rowing skiff is very tempting. Mike
lewisboats
Don't kid yourself...most of the pictures are of other boats and are used as an example of how something might be done or look. I keep all of my sketches too, so what you see might have been done to answer a question or post in a forum anytime over the past 10 years or so. Keeping them gives me a library to draw from. The typing was time consuming but seeing as I did it at work during down time...I was getting paid to sit on my butt anyways so I used the time wisely
