davidpm
The plans for the spindrift call for 3 strips of 1/4" solid wood on the outside of the plywood to form the gunwale. What do you think of adding another 1/4" strip on the inside. I'm thinking it will add a little definition. Any downsides?
Mike Vacanti
I did exactly this on my Bolger Junebug. It makes washing the boat a little more difficult. I usually lay the boat on its side and hose it out, the inner gunwale traps the water and dirt. Its not a big deal.
Designer
If your Spindrift is the nesting version an inwale will prevent the the two halves from nesting fully.
Garry
You could solve both problems by relieving the inwhale in the stern section as needed where it nears the nesting bulkhead so the bow section will drop all the way in.
