There is a lot of simularities that comes to mind, I guess, after reading many of his writings, and watching and reading peoples reactions. Maybe there are some simularities that goes with the territoriy of the boating business in a lot of ways. RIP

A writer and boat-builder in Thomasville, Georgia, and Dog Island, Florida, Robb White died May 16, 2006. He was born June 4, 1941. He graduated from Thomasville High School and served in the United States Navy from 1960-1963. He attended Florida State University and graduated in biology from Valdosta State College. He taught science in Franklin County for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jane, his sons and daughters-in-law, Wes and Erin White and Sam and Pam White, their children, Rosalie, Will, Neil, Rebecca Jane, Claudia, and Allison, and his sisters Barbara and June.

Oyster, Thanks for the posts and quote. I certainly didn't agree with every thing he said but as you say there is still a lot of common ground with anyone who builds boats or works in wood.

He did good.

Like many folks I had been drawn to his articles and learned a lot from his unique presentation of ideas. My codolences to the family.

The news brought this to mind:

Sunset and evening star,

I never agreed with him or disagreed. I have known others like him.What they did or how they did it,worked for them and that was good enough. I had been reading his words as of late and it had prompted my bow skiff thread.I had read the fishermen sinking the mullet boat and it reminded me of people I had known with similar circumstances. I didn't know him beyond a thread or 2 and his own website but somehow it just seems fitting to say so long and with that in mind,I am not looking forward to saying it to anyone else here anytime soon.So y'all take care of yourselves,ya hear?
