smoolie671
We just got back from another productive day of work on the old girl. We got the starboard chainplates locked down with iron bars, installed the last gunport trim and laithed out the first of many wood sleeves to fit over the cannons. Yea I know, that one cannon looks a litte funny. It was the only one that wound up being smack dab in the middle of a support. So we improvised and just trimmed out the spot where its supposed to be and drilled out a hole for the metal barrel and hammered it into place. the area arond the cannon will be painted black and the door will be permanately installed in the up position. All of the gun port trim will eventualy painted gold. We ran out of juice on the regular camera. so I whiped out the trusty cell phone. Thats why some pictures might look a bit blury. smoolie671
I think we should have her done by no later than June. I think I'll try to have her done before that. Once we finish the other side, the most thats left is steering and rigging......and sails.
