Konrad in Lincoln
Anyone got a good trick for getting white latex off of a slab? I don't own a power washer.
Mike Donlin
Hey Konrad is this work related or have the little ankle biters gotten into your workshop? Are you still working in SD? Google for beanedoo, this is a soybean based product that I saw at the World of Concrete for cleaning mastic off of floors before you acid stain them. According to the lit it works on most everything yet is non toxic.
Phil
Hey Konrad Don't know how picky you guys are in here yet :? about posting. I'll dip my toe in the water. What is the texture of the slab and how old is the paint? Phil

capt jake
Anyone got a good trick for getting white latex off of a slab? What works really good is gray colored paint. Seriously, I repaint my floors every couple of years.
Phil
I do the same in the storage room of my office every 2-3 yrs. The trick is prepping and cleaning VERY well. Then one coat of "big box" grey latex porch paint. Phil

Ken_Potts
Doesn't white latex just protect the slab from the weather? Oh... maybe not everybody's as much of a slob as I am. It seems like there's an acid you can get at a pool supply place that will get anything off of concrete. I'm just saying that from a very hazy memory of a theoretical notion so correct me if I'm wrong...
umop_apisdn
Depending on the texture of the concrete, a putty knife and a wire brush bit in an electric drill may be your best bet. Noel
Barry Pyeatt
After the putty knife and wire brush in the drill thingie being done, look up your local Amway dealer. Get a box of concrete cleaner from them. It will remove the rest without damaging anything in the process. Had to clean up some bad paint spills that had set for years in a basement that I was turning into a finished living space. Neighbor was an Amway dealer and suggested we try it. Amazing, it worked like a charm. Mix it up with water and mop it on and then let it just sit. Come back and work it around a little with a stiff brush and then rinse. It was all gone. No residue left.
capt jake
I think Amway now goes by the name 'Quickstar'. Rumor is that they are going to base their sales from the internet.
