2006 messing-about.com Calendar

I'm very late on getting this together, but it looks like I have some help to create the 2006 messing-about.com Calendar. I have to have all submissions by December 10, 2005 to be able to put it together.

As always, we prefer photos of boats being built, homebuilt boats being sailed, families enjoying boats that they have built, kids and boats, dogs and boats ... we tend more toward the "messing-about" part than just pretty pictures of boats. But if you have a picture that is special, even if it doesn't fit into any category above, feel free to submit it.

If you don't have picture processing software, just send the largest version of the picture you have. For those of you who want to get fancy, here are the technical specs:

Original size is 11.5 x 9' date=' full bleed and trimmed to 11 x 8.5 image size.

Trimming may trim off the image at the edges, unless you prepare it to the resolution specifications below and include a black border.

Minimum resolution is 150 DPI, maximum is 300 DPI.

Desired resolution is 200 DPI.

At 200 DPI image size should be 2300 x 1800.

By submitting your photo' date=' you grant messing-about.com the right to use the photo for annual calendars sold through the site, and to use the photo selected for the calendars to promote the sale of the calendars here on the site. You understand the photo may be used in a collage of photos with other photos on a calendar page, or may also appear on the cover. You retain the right to later withdraw your permission to use the photo in future calendars or in future promos on the website. You retain all other rights to the photo. You also affirm that you have the right to use the image, and have obtained permission from each of the people in the photo who can be identified, unless the photo is of a public place (such as a boat show).

(For legal reasons, you must obtain the permission of each person pictured, or their legal guardian if they are under 18. Submissions from a family member, showing other family members, will be considered covered for this provision, but please get permission from your friends and extended family members before making your submission.)

Submit photos via email to "frankhagan @ ev1.net" (removing the spaces I have in there for spam protection!)

As is our usual custom, if a single picture is chosen for the cover photo, the person submitting it wins a free calendar. If we don't get any that, in our opinion, are suitable for the cover then we use a collage of the best photos, and will pick a winner by drawing their name from a hat.

Some good photos from the Gaffer Gathering in Lake City, MN have been submitted by Bill, so we're off to a good start. Lots of boats, rigging, and boat builders looking over each other's work.

But we need more! Send your submissions to:

frankhagan @ ev1.net (remove the spaces on either side of the "@" sign)
