Bill Paxton Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 All are welcome to join us at the Minnesota Messabout on Saturday, May 29, at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis. We'll have Skipjacks, Weekenders, canoes, kayaks and whatever else the region's boat builders bring. Kick off is around 10am, and the picnic is whenever we get hungry. Bring whatever food & beverages you'd like, and a little to share. There is no camping nearby, but there are reasonable motels within 15 minutes of the lake. We had a blast at both messabouts last summer. Hope you can make it. Quote
JMetzner Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Bill, Woohoo!!! What a deal! I just happen to be hoping a plane for MSP on Friday the 28th. I'll have to check on other commitments, but it would be fantastic to stop by. I'll check the map for lake nokomis. I'm busily trying to finish up my weekender for a July 4th launch, maybe I can get a sailing lesson in, since I've never sailed one of these things. Thanks for the heads-up! --John M. Fairbanks, AK. Bill Paxton Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 You're definitely welcome to sail my Weekender. It would be great fun to meet you and hear about your boat. Lake Nokomis is off of the north west corner of the airport. If you send me an email, I'll reply with my phone number and other helpful info. bill@paxtonconsulting.com Quote
Dave R1 Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 John, you might even get the flight attendant to drop you in the lake as they go over. I'm hoping to be there. I'd better get that painting done. Quote
Marshall Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 My Weekender won't be completed for the Spring Messabout, but it will be for summer. I am going to try and stop by to see the others. Mine is coming along nicely though. I should have the cabin completed this weekend ! Quote
