Jonathan M. Cohn Posted March 24 Posted March 24 After watching many hours of Dawn Patrol 2 sail magically with its windvane steering system, I have decided I can't possibly steer the whole time myself in the Texas 200 in June. More importantly, my brother / crewmen agrees and is willing to help install (or fund installation) of Walter the windvane. In the past, I have considered installing Andy the autopilot but a system not needing batteries would be better. Why else do I even have that big boomkin on the back of my boat?!? Any chance of a kit being sold for Core Sound 17.3? Could I purchase preliminary plans? I know the link at https://bandbyachtdesigns.com/windvane is not quite ready to let me purchase yet. Finally, I have a ladder on the left of my transom and a motor mount on the right. Do I even have room for the auxiliary rudder and kick up apparatus? How much space is needed? If you haven't seen Walter in action check out these links: Quote
Alan Stewart Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Hey Jonathan, Yes we'll have kits and plans very soon. just have to get a couple of pesky powerboat jobs off my plate then i'm all over it. How much space do you have. Send me some pictures and measurements so i can check in the 3d model what if anything you'll need to do space wise. it'll probably fit. I like Andy the autopilot and Walter the windvane. My Dad had fun with Phil and Dwane the brothers that control the ballast tank. 2 1 Quote
