Here's the base I'm working off of to cut the frames and coaming out. I cut holes in it to give me more clamping options. 20170604_074829.thumb.jpg.34acd454d4ec2478a5d479f518ea76fb.jpg

Getting the frames out. Here's where the holes in my table are coming in handy.

I think I'm going to end up needing more clamps.

The holes end up being useful for more than just clamping.

Cutting out the insides. I'll trim to the line on the bandsaw or else with a sanding drum. Still undecided.20170604_082006.thumb.jpg.ff6fe930e1273481d05dc845846678c4.jpg

I bought a 5X5 sheet of Baltic Birch but had a foot ripped off one edge so I could fit it in my vehicle. This section is going to present a challenge or two.20170604_083745.thumb.jpg.ecb10cd24ff979809333d9d41c8d9116.jpgI started sawing around the coaming section until I was running into the base. Then I set 2X4s under the birch to get clearance for the blade and support the cutoff when it separates.20170604_083750.thumb.jpg.c16720d375fc043df7f077050051fa65.jpg

View from the end of the workpiece. I decided NOT to cut out the centers of the coaming rings until I get the outside edges trimmed to the line. I can always cut out the centers later I haven't discovered yet how to unbreak stuff.
