fly fisher
I bought "More Fuselage Frame Boats" some time ago and have a question regarding the keel. On pages 40 to 42, Steps Four to Seven a line is drawn from the face of the lowest stringer to the centre line of the bottom of the keel. Should the small triangle below the line on the keel be removed? The finished frame drawing shows the keel still with a flat bottom.
Kudzu
I typically leave the Keel flat. The line you see would just be a layout line (temporary). When I first started out I ran all the beams through the shaper or router and put a radius on the corner but I have found that is not necessary. Now I just break that corner with some 80 grit sandpaper, making sure there is not splinter on the edge to catch in the fabric.
