I have been working on Kingsfold for several years now. http://kingsfoldsailboat.blogspot.com/ Since I learned about the Race to Alaska, I made some changes in my plans in order to make the boat safer when I enter next year's race. Those changes include replacing my according-to-the-plans keel and rudder with the fin keel and rudder that PAR designed.

Here is a photo of the rudder in process. post-5760-0-47055100-1470768520_thumb.jpg

I am also going to make the cockpit self-draining. Yes, I know it's a small boat with a small cockpit, and I am a bit crazy. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Oh, I meant the bit crazy part. It'll get better...

I think an axe handle is a fine tiller, and a great multi use tool in Alaska. Bring a bit! :)

I'm anxious to see this project unfold.

Peace,

Robert

I have begun illustrating my cockpit plans, prior to building them. More details can be found on my blog. http://kingsfoldsailboat.blogspot.com/2016/09/significant-modifications.html and I just added a cockpit top view to go along with this. http://kingsfoldsailboat.blogspot.com/2016/10/more-work-on-self-draining-cockpit-plans.html
