  1. Never heard of the company. Would like to know more. Please pass on any info you hear. Thanks.
  2. Nice site, but I can't say I have ever heard of them. Sorry
  3. If they can get to newsnet they can get here can't they? And we can make comments here. Good or bad. But its not a bad idea for those who want to look but not touch.
  4. If you can't find any beads you can buy em here http://www.woodnshop.com/CRAFT_BALLS_BALL_KNOBS_BEADS.htm But I would look around at the Salvation Army stores and swop shops.
  5. Having running lights on your boat doesn't cost that much and may save your life. Don't go with the minimums of a flashlight. Strobes, being a collision-warning device can be mistaken for a marker and cause other boats to go off course. Most Coastguards well fine you for keeping it on. Any major water ways, Great Lakes or were commercial shipping routes will require you to have running lights. If you
  6. Hay captain red, I was on "China Girl" a couple of years ago, but now shes on your side of the lake. She is some place in Green Bay. Don't know of any others. The only complant was that the boat was narrow but other then that she sailed really well. First time on a boat that was junk rigged and not a junk. A real junk, well the one I had been on was wide, more like a big box. Intresting to be on but I wouldn't want to take it on a long trip.
  7. Ok I can agree that a GPS out does dead reckoning in the fog, but radar does even better. I have lost all power and though I now have a hand held GPS at the time if I had not kept my charts up I would have been in trouble. GPS is great, remember at a time of war it can be reset to show deviations. Not all ports or is every GPS setup with Deferential. Depending on any one system can get you in trouble. The best days can end up in fog.
  8. I have used my GPS on occasion, its good for figuring your speed. Still like dead reckoning. If you get a good day on your Weekender I'd like to know how fast she is.
  9. Wow nice link, some much to read, so little time to check it out.
  10. Frank Hagan did a good job, so follow his instructions. The Norton should have copied you registry and following their reinstall should put you right back to the way it was when you backed it up. Once you get your computer back up you may want to back up the registry whenever you do any major installs. The power supply should have not changed your hard drives but if it was on when the power supply went it could have. Did they give you a reason for your power supply to fail. Do you have a UPS or surge suppresser on you system, and a good ground. This may keep it from happening again. Are your D: and E: drives physical drives or a logical drive. I would take it that your E: is you CDROM. Aren
  11. I agree with Charlie Jones. I have sailed Junk rigged and believe that the Weekender would not benefit from this type of rigging. Full batten sails would do better and give somewhat the same look. If you haven't sailed before I think the sail stricture that is in the plans for the Weekender are one of the best to learn on. As you get used to the handling of the Weekender I would make small changes. Junk rigged though beautiful are heavy and will take a little getting used to. I would never say don't, just work up to it. After all its you boat, you built it, and you can have as much fun changing it as you want. My 2 and 1/2 cents worth, mince tax, oh no that makes it -1/2 cents :roll
  12. Ice storm, power outages, three buildings on fire with in two miles. Boy we went from winter to bettle field and were in the heart of Michigan.
  13. Did I get a discount for being the one to deliver the baby, Don't know the insurance company paid for it. Did I just catch the baby? No I had to work the shoulders out. And yes I did the breathing with her. And no I'm not in the medical field. It was a great experience you should give it a try. The doctors will let you if every thing is going all right. Jury duty, ya I've been there. Was picked the first day and then told that I was predigest, but I still don't know what for. Maybe because I have daughters and it was a rap case. But if he was guilty the should just hang em. Oops  did I say that. Oh well read three books before the end of jury duty and got paid for it. So it wasn't bad, except for the chairs...
  14. What whimps, you go out sailing in all kinds of weather. Half drown in storms, Survive the job place and you can't stand the idea of childbirth. There
  15. Hay Capt. Jake, sounds like you going to have to change your handle. Capt but not of boat to capt of boat and more.
  16. Winter is back in Michigan, bummer, and I was ready to work on the boat this weekend. Now rethinking plans. Humm wonder how much power to heat up a boat.

    Hey Guys

I like the sail, I've seen it before but never put it to much thought. But seeing it in your picture I'll have to reconsider it.
  18. Ok I give up, where do you run in an earth quake? Up?? l :?:
  19. Oh wow Pat, didn't know you had some. Have to get em from you.
  20. Denis, come on over to Michigan, we have lots of wood to choose from. Most of it from Canada.
  21. Its a good idea to put a safety strap on you motor, all though the one we found in the bottom of the lake gave us many good years of service. I all ways wondered what the owner thought when he saw the motor disappearing off the back of the boat never to see it again. And yes we did try to find the owner.
  22. Barry, Goodwill is a good idea. I'll try them tonight. Thanks
