  1. I can't believe I remembered my user name and password . barnacle bill here in springfield, ky . still sailing the titmouse and still messing with the victoria 18's and picked up a nice venture of newport because I always wanted one. wife still hasn;t left me yet though I don't know why not. we're on school time agaiin raising our 7 year old grandson . he likes the boats too and that's good since I lost my big dog Booger a few years ago who loved to sail with me . ky doc frog has acquired another wooden sailboat and we are intertaining thought of a gatheriing of such at green river lake in central KY sometime this spring or summer. beautiful lake and good breezes . would like to get a good turnout. pass this around if you want and kick it back to us so we can have an idea of the interest generated. the best to all b bill
  2. well it hard to leave an old "found" boat sitting in the weeds. and sometimes I just have to have them to look at. sort of like haveing art you can sail? and I like messing about with the canvas and sailcloth and such. I can draft and sew a pretty mean sail too . preferring a loose foot and a little curve in the roach . the grandson is almost 6 now and likes the boats too . darethea ( better half) picked herself up a 2750 bayliner at a goodwill sale back in the spring and I have been working on it too ever since. it's about ready to go but winter is about upon us. she says it's going to be our river cruiser . guess we'll be playing toad and ratty . all the best. b bill
  3. hello to all . barnacle bill here from springfield, ky . yes, it's been awhile since my last post and a lot of water has ran under the keel since. I got involved with caring for my ageing mother ( rip) and won a hard fought custody battle for the grandson my wife and I have raised and that takes a lot of the boating time too. but concerning boating. still have the titmouse and have added a victoria 18 cutter ( only 5 built) and a nordica 16 and a 20 to the collection ( or inventory which ever way you look at it I tell the wife) and an old sea sprite runabout for those windless days and because the grandson wanted it. still running the leather sewing shop but a little slow in this economy but still have time to repair a sail and such on the side for my friends. and the little christopher boy that we held the raffle for that so many of you contributed too will turn 18 yrs old this month ( the doctors say it is a miracle) though he still has many problems he is still here with us . God Bless you all for your generosity. It made all the difference. sorry to write a book but the forum site prompted me and I had lost the address since the old computer died . the best to all and come visit and sail green river with me. b bill in springfield, ky www.racingleather.com
  4. b bill here. hello to all . been gone awhile. sorry but life grabs you up sometimes. green river in cambellsville is the better sailing lake around these parts aside from KY lake. Dave used to take her there during the summer. I'm in springfield, ky .I like to sail. give us a holler. barnacle@kyol.net all the best. b bill

  6. your are not giving yourself enough credit there.all marine ply. teak trim and nice brightwork and sharp interior and professionally built sails and a shorlander trailer. youo couldn't build that package for thrice the money not counting the labor. that is one fine wkender and well worth your asking price. won't last long. first buyer to see her in person will snatch her up. always the best. b bill
  7. hello and salutations to all on the board. just saying hello. I haven't forgotten you. raising the gandson ( he's two now) and taking care of the leathershop takes about all my time. I have still had time though to acquire another victoria 18 the cutter model . needs just a little work as most older boats do and also a mfg 19 that I brought in a few weeks ago ( it will make a good family boat)with the help of kydocfrog . it's looking like a boatyard around here. at least the wife isn't complaining too loudly yet. I'm thinking I'll get to messabout with them later in the summer. the grandson really likes to play about with the boats too. so he comes by that honestly . he's only been kayaking a little but loves the water. I think he will really like a sail soon as it warms up a little. Happy Easter to all . b bill
  8. sorry I don't know how to do a link thing but it's on the victoria 18 forums on delphi or www. victoriayachts.com website has a link to it. lloks like it's shaping up to be an interesting trip. always the best. b bill
  9. I went back in 91 . on a larger boat. enjoyed it . this will be different. yes i am a little apprehensive going in the vic but there will be a couple of larger boats and more vics along too. yes, the weather will be of prime importance. I suppose if it is too rough we will sail the keys and do the restaurant tourist thing too. always the best. b bill
  10. we got some excellent pics of charlie girlII . just have to get them scanned to post them . charlie girl accelerates off the wind like a shot . takes a little more time to get the vic with her 600 lbs of lead and 3 people in the cockpit moving at hull speed but the momentum keeps her going very well to weather . we had a very good day on the water. always the best. b bill

keep trying on the calling. seems the phone stays tied up around here all the time. I have a lot of info on balboa 20's and can probably tell you anything you need to know like it's strengths and weaknesses . had mine up from the trailer several times and had to redo the entire front of the keel when it cracked and broke off ( it's cast iron) . but luckily the lifting cable held it until the boat reached the shore. probably was just a fluke or hit a stump? anway I'm still interested . thanks, b bill
