Thanks Jeff for the honest reply, but oh so depressing, I have paddled a plastic canoe for years here and so wanted something less clunky, but I guess when you float some of the most beautiful streams in the country, sweating a little is a small price to pay, thanks again David J

New to this forum and was looking through old post and found this thread, I live in Ozark Co Mo where these streams and rivers are almost walking distance from my house, I would like to build a castaway to fish these streams and lakes, just wondering if anyone has used a SOF on these Ozark waterways and how they held up, they can be brutal on a canoe I know from experience, thanks for any input David.
