Gday. I have been sailing a Cherry16 on Port Phillip. I notice the weight/drag etc on the transom with a 5.0 hp outboard. I was thinking that I could routinely carry the outboard in the cabin to bring weight forward but this would mean a lot of hassle and also tlack of instant availability if needed. I wonder about the weight/power benefits of a small inboard engine or electric motor located in the hull just forward of the mast. A secondary question would be whether it is possible to have a slide on the transom to raise/ lower the drive for sailing. cheers Bill
