After getting frustrated with the slow pace on my Spindrift 10, I decided that I wanted to get something in the water this summer. The moccasin was built in four weeks, and after a short test paddle in a local pond, it went to New Bern to swim in the Nuese river. It did well, but my 200 pounds is a little much for it. I was hoping for a little more speed, though I did keep up with a friend in his kayak. Does anyone have any ideas on the external finish. I would love to keep it bright, but I have already aquired some scratches on the bottom. A Flyfisher is already cut out as the next build. I guess that the Spindrift will just have to wait.
