Front hatch locking mechanism and hinges .

 

Using a sunroof lock from an old Landrover freelander !!

Fortunately this type of lock has stainless steel shaft and springs 

 

The hinges are bent to the shape required  

 

The hatch door itself is cut from a 10mm acrylic sheet and close on to an 8mm self adhesive D rubber profile

I`ve  decided to cover the front deck (passage), the 2 steps and the driving platform with synthetic teak . the advantage over solid wood is its lightness and it is maintenance free  !

 

But still confused which strip direction looks better for my boat !!

 

Any thoughts are much appreciated ?

I made some cardboard drawing for the decking

I like the kingplank design and is professional but it looks too classic for this boat

The herringebond type looks fine but for some reason I cant place the center line ( where planks meet ) in the center !!

Not sure about the other 3 designs ?
