Pete McCrary
The cabin floor of my Cs20.3 is approximately a 47" trapazoid with fwd end width of 10.5" and aft width of 24.5". The keel (and bottom planks) rise about an inch from the water ballast boxl towards #49 bunk support. The photos below show floor that I fabricated from yellow pine. The floor beams are 3/4" spaced to match the cleat placement on bunk supports #50 and #51 and profiled to the curvature of the bilge. There are 9 floor boards -- also of yellow pine, planned down to 9/16th". They are spaced approximately 1/8" appart. A 1/4" pendant at the aft end allows easy removal for access to the bilge. The floor reduces the cabin space only very slightly, from about 4" at the aft end, which also helpfully reduces (by that much) the long step [down] from the bridge deck into the cabin. The finished product (before applying 2 coats of neat epoxy) weighes just 13 lbs.
Chick Ludwig
Looks nice---I like it. I may do the same for my cabin sole in Summer Breeze.
PAR
Cedar slats over those pine supports is the way I do it. Cedar is a lot lighter and IMO better under wet foot. I also use two fasteners per slat, so the boards can't cup and the assembly can't "rack".
Jknight611
This is what I did to our cabin sole on our CS20.3 hull#2. It is only 3/16 inch thick set on a epoxy bed with the white is epoxy with glass beads. Made the cabin sole a lot stiffer, of course when in the water it doesn't make much difference. We used red oak for all the hatches and the trim in the cabin. It is really easy to get in our area.
