Rubber swimming pool paint?

Has anyone tried rubber-based swimming pool paint to coat SOF fabric? I remember this stuff from 50 years ago. It was a chlorinated rubber based paint. Flexible, waterproof, UV and chemical resistant. They still make it, along with a non-chlorinated (less toxic?) version. It's $49.00 per gallon. Don't know about adhesion or abrasion resistance properties. Nor do I know if it would negatively affect the nylon or polyester fabrics.

Just thinking out loud. Any comments or experience with it?? Regards, Steve.

Maybe not, I know there are a few different formulations of pool paint, solvent (a few different types), acrylics and even epoxies, so skipping the rubber (chlorinated) and using one of the acrylics or an epoxy might be an option, though honestly, I think weight will become a concern. These coatings tend to have quite thick film thicknesses (up to 30 mils by some spec's), when applied to recommendations. If it's a tripper or freighter canoe type of build, then maybe not as much an issue, but a light, tippy and fast design might take a costly weight penalty.
