Kudzu
To quote Miss Roseanne Roseannadanna: "It's always something — if it's not one thing, it's another!" Headed to the terminal to pick up the 11 oz fabric, pulled out on the highway, stepped on the gas and KAPOW!! (Batman quote). Something in the transmission let go. I limped to my favorite transmission shop but now I have no wheels. Not a cheap repair either. But the good thing is I leave for the Chesapeake Bay to teach a class in a few weeks and I am SO GLAD it didn't wait till I was on the road! Can only imagine what that would have cost! Always concerned about needing a major repair on the road. Something small I can handle. Looks like it will be Friday before I can pick up the 11 oz fabric.
Pilotlon
Been there, done that one, Jeff...while half way between NWA and Memphis. Not too many good choices when you are on the road. Too bad about the unexpected repair costs, but better now than when you are stranded on the freeway. Lon "Cha-Ching" in NW Arkansas
SailorSteve
Jeff, I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. So I just ordered plans for Crawfish (single) tonight and ordered a second copy of your second book from Amazon this morning. I know it won't put much of a dent in your repair bill. Good luck with your trip to the Chesapeake. I used to have a place on the Eastern Shore of VA and miss the area. You'll love it.
