soitios
Hi All, Before I print out the lofted frames and start cutting, I wanted to check whether things look right. Please see the attached screenshot. Using the offsets provided for the FreeB plans I drew up the frames as per instructions in 'Fuselage Frame Boats' by Jeff Horton. The screenshot shows the 4 frames laid over each other. The frames are: X=30 [dark blue] X=53 [light blue (cyan)] X=89 [green] X=116 [pink] I'm wondering about the alignment of the stringer positions. All of the stringer positions that are just below the gunwale stringer are close to the same angle, although not perfectly aligned. The gunwale stringer positions seem to get steeper in angle for frames further forward in the boat and also quite a bit higher. Is this correct? I understand this is kinda hard to explain but I just want to check on this before cutting! Thank you!
Action Tiger
Ugh. You boys and your computers. The short answer is yes. The stringer flare and height will change, otherwise your boat would be a box... Put them on a strongbacks and you'll see. Also, the bends in this boat are pretty harsh. Be prepared.
