nub
I am a new Forum member, considering building a Vardo or a Ravenswood. I am 6', 180#, size 12 shoe. I sit slightly bowlegged with heels together and toes out in my footrests. Could anyone please share their experiences with footroom in these kayaks. Thanks! Bcone1381
I am 5'11' weight 165 lbs. and have 10.5 size shoes. I paddle a Ravenswood and have no problems. It does not feel tight.
Kudzu
I am pretty sure VARDO is larger in the foot area but it's not something I have every measured (and not sure how to do that). "I THINK" you will fit in either one but I can't promise it. This is one area I wish I could give a better answer but everyone is different in the way they sit in a boat. llbrand
I'm 6' with a size 14. My kayak is a Messaround. Sitting bowlegged with the balls of my sandals on the footrests, my heels ride just off the floor skin and the toes don't touch. I find it's best if you ride with your foot parallel with the chine wall. If I build another, I'll add a plywood heel pad to keep from rubbing the bottom skin. Kudzu
Messabout is a good bit bigger inside than any of the kayaks. It is more Rec boat than kayak. And there is nothing wrong with feet on the skin of any of the fabric I sell. I have been doing it for years and never noticed any wear.
