ejds
Far from being finished, but here is a picture. I'm building a Bluejacket 25.5 and hope to be finished spring 2015. The beginning of the whole project was in March 2011 by building first a workshop to accommodate the boat building. The actual boat building started in November 2012 by making a steering wheel while waiting on plywood to be delivered. Pictures of the progress are here. jkeenan
Lets see some pictures of boats in process or complete. Its almost winter and we all need the encoragement to keep on going through the winter. Henry and Diane onboard of Dee Dee are great examples of what is possible with these terrific little boats. Lets see what you have......
ejds
I don't have any worthwhile pictures to show for. Work on the boat continues with a lot of fairing and sanding on the fore deck, side decks and cockpit. A little bit of progress has been made on the cabin top. Also spent a lot of time working on the trailer while the weather still was halfway decent. Took it completely apart down to the frame, painted it. It has been reassembled with all new hardware and new disc brakes. A little bit of wiring for the lights is left and I need to install the bunks. It used to be a roller trailer. jkeenan
This is the best picture to post. First time in the water. Friday 6/12, four years and 11 days after the first sarf joint and one day short of four years from the first three dimensional day.
ejds
Jim, congratulations on your splash and great accomplishment. Just wish I was as far as you are. Egbert
Tom Lathrop
How great it is!! A testament to commitment Jim. In spite of distractions and roadblocks, you have her launched. May need a forehatch and a few things but she floats beautifully. A boat is never really finished anyway so ....Congratulations
jkeenan
Tom Thank you. The forward hatch is below decks, it is on hindges that seperate. We did not want the hatch flat on the deck because of the curvature. It is simple to remove and replace. I may add an adjustable hatch lift setup for the times when we just want to ventilate the fore cabin.

Hinges are available that can accommodate the curvature and it is easy to mount regular hinges on wedge bases to allow the curved hatch to open all the way back. Ours does on homemade glass/epoxy hinges I made.

jkeenan
I was waiting for someone to catch that. My redwing 18 was MS 18 RW My Bolger Diablo is MS 432 PB (Phil Bolger design number 432} You just have to ask if it is available.
jkeenan
Tom, it is not the hindges on the curvature. When the hatch is sitting 180 degrees back the curves are opposite. I wanted to have some "clear" deck space to luonge or move around without a unstable hatch in the way. We are not getting any younger and footing is key on a small craft like this. jkeenan
Here is another one. I have changed the prop and figuered out a few details. Looking to do more sea trails tomorrow.
ejds
Here are a couple of the latest pictures of my boat. It was moved on the trailer this week and the motor bolted on yesterday. The outside is mostly finished except for some details and most of the stuff that goes on the roof. Inside there is still a lot to be done. It has been leak tested yesterday, when I drove home from the dealer I went to a thunderstorm. The opening windshield leaked a bit and the drain channels under the aft cockpit locker lids overflowed from the boat tilting back. Tomorrow (Sept. 12) there is a boat show at the Reedville Fisherman's Museum as a work in progress. Hopefully the weather holds out, more storms predicted for the afternoon. Tom Lathrop
OK, time for the big question. Are you and the boat coming to Georgetown?
