Gordy Hill
On my last visit to the VA clinic, the nice lady who takes my blood, on an all-to-regular basis, was wearing a disposable lab coat, as was nearly everyone else in the department. I mentioned one would be handy in my garage. (Old British cars that don't leak oil are empty.) She gave me one. It is a "spun poly" kinda stuff that feels a bit like paper, but more flexible and softer. It has knit cuffs and plastic snaps down the front. It's really really handy any time I approach the car. It's surprisingly durable, but can get warm. If you can find one that is breathable it would be great. Unless, of course, you're dealing with ebola. A quick check online shows prices at just over a dollar apiece on up if one buys 30 or so. If I were building a boat now I would buy one at a time until I found one I really like and then get a boxfull, which should last lifetime. LennieG
Gordy- Good idea. I have ended up turning old cotton long sleeve shirts into boat building garb. Rashes on the arms were getting out of hand. The fact that cotton breathes helps in this climate and they have worked well for me. Happy I am not adding the tie anymore
Dnjost
I use a Tyvek suit that has survived two builds so far. More expensive, but durable. I will also add, darned hot in the summer. This was at the request of my wife who became quite annoyed at me destroying clothing with epoxy drips.
Chick Ludwig
Yeah, wives just don't understand us... I have a batch of old, previously "epoxied" clothes that i always wear. Once in awhile, i forget and go out to do some little thing on the boat, and mess-up a shirt or something. Just adds to my pile of old work clothes. Just don't understand why Miss Debbie won't let me wear it to church---it's just a LITTLE glue glob... It is always my FAVORITE shirt too. Durn!
