Catspaw

Has anyone built a Minipaw, Catspaw 7 or Catspaw 8? The reason I ask is that I plan to build one of these this winter. Which one I build is a function of a key (for me) dimension. I would like to be able to store the dinghy on the fordeck of my Catalina 25 from time to time. I am certain the Minipaw would fit OK but am leaning toward the 7 or 8 if they would fit. I need to know the max width of the bow "transom" as it must fit between the lifelines and bow pulpit. The measurement is especially critical for the Catspaw 8 but depending on the width, the 7 may have a problem also.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi Fred

I just checked my Twopaw 8 (nesting version of Catspaw 8...I presume the same dimensions) and measured across the bow gunwale to gunwale.

Total width with untapered 3/4 inch rubrails is 640 mm (25.2 inches). By tapering the rubrails you might gain half an inch.
