WolfmanBob
Hey guys. I have been thinking about building a 17 for quite some time. I've been on this board for a while, gathering information (thanks for all you put out there, btw, it really has been helpful). I'll build from Graham's kit since I'm not really set up to cut out all that plywood. I'm now in the budgeting phase and was wondering, what is the cost of the required epoxy, masts, and sails? I haven't seen this info presented yet. I would likely buy my materials from Graham. Thanks for the help.

I would ask Carla/Graham for a quote that included everthing that could supply (in addition to the ply kit): As their CS 17 kit page says.... "we can also supply your epoxy building requirements. Additionally, we support our designs with custom sails and hardware at prices that rival or beat even the large national marine chains." This is not a new discovery, have seen posts many time that people who have bought materials and hardware have been happy with the price and quality. Sounds great to get everything at the same time from the same source - and they know better than anyone what's needed. Best of luck on the build TomH
LennieG
I agree with Tom- get it all from one source, upfront, but add 20% to the epoxy estimates. The original shipment is expensive so get everything possible on it. If you are spending 300-400 for shipping, pile it on... at the end of the day, this is half boat building, half sourcing stuff. The hardware, sails, mast pieces, fiberglass, gloves, measuring cups, chip brushes, paint containers, rollers, squeegees, disposable 18 ounce or bigger cups, sandpaper, blades, masking tape, acetone etc etc eats up much time and money. Buy as much a as possible once. I am not saying Graham supplies all of that.....but that is what will eat up time and money as you move thru it. WolfmanBob
Thanks for the info, guys. I am waiting to hear back from Graham. Fortunately I am close enough to Graham to pick it up myself and save a few hundred dollars.
