bwhip
Hello. My name's Rich and I'm from Western Washington State. I recently finished a stitch-and-glue Pygmy kayak and now want to try my hand at a skin on frame boat. I just received my Ravenswood plans, and I'm working through the assembly manual. I'm sure I'll be back with questions. Can't wait to get started. Now, let's see if I can post a photo of my Pygmy--
P Doug (WA)
That's a beauty. Do you ever attend the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival? I've been wanting to go to that for years and have never made it. I did got to the kayak festival one year, it was great. I would like to go back to it sometime, but I live on the other side of the state.
bwhip
Yep, I've been to the Wooden Boat Festival twice. When I go, I camp at Sequim State Park and commute over. I think you'd like it--I definitely overdose on awesomeness when I go. That's where I bought the Pygmy kit, and that's where I saw my first SOF kayak. I was totally amazed at how light and tough it was. I think the owner was Kiliii Yu from Seawolf Kayaks. BTW--I grew up in Richland and moved over to the wet side in '98. I did a lot of traipsing around Benton City in my youth. I do miss the sunshine!
