Deltabravo
Started on building a shad. I decided if I could get a laminated combing built I could build the rest with no problem. I used some aromatic cedar I had left over from building my stonefly canoe. It came out ok at least for the first time I've ever tried something like that but could have been better, next time. Couldn't find any WRC locally but did find some nice clear cypress in 12 ft lengths that were priced reasonably, he even planed them to thickness for me. Got the stringers glued up and sanded. Working on frames and should have some pcs of them and start the assembly this week.
P Doug (WA)
I think your Coaming really came out nice looking.
Hirilonde
The coaming looks great. What color are you going to paint it?
Deltabravo
Hahaha! Always love that question. Maybe purple or orange or maybe both...
JReed
That cedar looks great. Can't wait to see how it looks on the finished boat
Deltabravo
I hope it will look cool. Been wondering what people are using for spray skirts, been thinking about making my own but know zero about them.
Kudzu
I can't find a commercial neopren one that will fit. Someone else may have?? Â If you can be happy with a touring skirt, Harmony XL (Ior was it large?) works pretty well. Can usually find them on Ebay reasonable. Deltabravo
Thanks, I'll check it out.
andy00
Deltabravo: Check out Seals Sprayskirts. You send them a pattern of your coaming and they custom make a skirt to fit. But you need to buy it thru a local retailer. I purchased a skirt for my Ravenswood his way and was very satisfied. Fair winds, Andy

vttramper
Been wondering what people are using for spray skirts  I test fit my Wilderness Systems spray skirt on my Ravenswood (under construction) and it works great. Don't know if it is still available tho, it is an oldie but a goodie.
Deltabravo
Been lashing it up in my spare time during the last week. It went together well no big surprises. The 1 in stringers were kind of strange to work out on the bow and stern, seemed like I never got them exactly where they should be, oh well not taking it to the fair. Kudzu
I love the lines of this boat! I never get tired of seeing one being built. Even my wife, who thinks a kayak is a coffin (she is a little claustrophobic) like the look of this boat. Â Enough that she has asked me to create a lines plan drawing of it in color to go on the wall in the living room. Like a 36" long image! Once I get it printed on the new plotter she will have it framed and matted. Â

Deltabravo
Finally got around to skinning my boat. Used the 11oz poly from Jeff, worked out good easy to sew on tight without any pull holes showing. Now on to paint.
