Ankle Deep
Jeff: I'm intrigued by the paint scheme on your Shad. Is the hull painted black or is that a very dark shade of green?
Kudzu
it's Black. It's probably my favorite paint job too.
Ankle Deep
Do you mind if I steal your idea for my Firefly? I really like the paint job plus I have a can of Rustoluem Satin Black in the shop. I picked up some color chips from Sherwin-Williams....I'm attempting to match the deck. I have narrowed it down to three possibilities - Center Stage - Electric Lime - Outrageous Green Any chance your paint came from SW?
Kudzu
My green is Hosta. :-) It was an Ace Hardware color but I call it Nuclear Green. Just remember that it will be more intense in a larger area. But that isn't bad because that paint scheme say "Here I am and I am in your face!" Stay away from the satin and buy some gloss. It's harder and for some reason satin, semi-gloss, etc. never seals as good. That is a semi-gloss black on Shad and I won't use that again. It doesn't leak but it does 'seep' a little. Just enough to annoy me. It's not enough to repaint but I sometimes think is daring me to paint it gloss.
