andy00
Oh, hear me, people of the SOF: I had a lovely time paddling my Ravenswood on Cape Cod a couple of weeks. However, I brought back some souvenirs -- sand between the frame and the skin. It shows up on the outside as small bumps along the frames. Any clever tips or hints on removal of such mineral deposits? I did some vacuuming with a crevice tool but some sand remains. Thanks, Andy
Kudzu
Garden hose, boat on side or upsidedown.
Hirilonde
-- sand between the frame and the skin. Is the gap between the frames and the skin that tight? I can see sand getting caught between the stringers and skin, but not frames. Hopefully Jeff's suggestion works, it would be tedious to have to reef it out. Kudzu
I have washed "stuff" out a few times. It's really hard in the ends of the boat though. Another thing that will sometimes loosed it up is when in the water, put a little inside the boat. Slide the boat forward and backward, slooshing the water around. Sometimes that will loosed up small stuff like sand and grit.
