Kudzu
Going to use this at any displays I do this year. Finished framed that is half skinned and the skin is half finished. Should help show they are built and be an eye catcher.
Hirilonde
Aha, so that is what you do with shorts of cloth. I think it's a good idea.
P Doug (WA)
You are correct. It makes for a great display and will start a lot of conversations many of which, should lead to sales...

Echo Valley
Jeff, Would you happen to have a shot of this from above the coaming looking down. I need a visual of how the coaming sits. Thanks, Scott
Kudzu
I don't, but it just rests on the two frames, center between them.
Hirilonde
Before I built my first SoF kayak the coaming installation had me puzzled. Probably because it was just so simple. Leave your deck stringers long into the space where the coaming will go until you are done lashing. Then lay your coaming in place and mark the stringers inside the coaming where they are too long. Keep in mind when cutting not to cut to far so as to remove the support for the coaming. If in doubt, leave them long until after you have sewn the coaming in. It will never be too late to cut them shorter. Remember the old carpenter's joke: I have cut this board 3 times and it is still too short. You will find that your confusion resolves itself during this process. Well, it did for me.
