JReed
Got a question for those of you who have built long shot. Do long legs and big feet fit under the deck. I wear size 13 shoes with a 34" inseam. I really love the looks of the boat and would love to build one after my next deployment. Thanks Jeremy
Kudzu
Not sure if you saw any of this but I asked on my Facebook and here is what I got from James. He built a Firefly and they are very close. I used Long Shot as my staring point for Firely. James Van Herreweghe My size 13 feet are to big for my Firefly but it is really no problem. If my feet are at an angle they do not push up on the skin. Some times they do push up on the skin but it does not bother me or the boat. March 26 at 6:50pm · Like Kudzu Craft Thanks James. That actually tell me a lot because the two are very similar and I will need to check, but I bet they they are very close in the foot space. March 27 at 12:24pm · Like James Van Herreweghe I was thinking they would be about the same. I was worried about mine while I built it because When I sat in the frame I could tell my feet would not fit. But after skinning it and paddling I found its comfortable. My advice is not to worry about foot room. I have never had a problem with it and have put in plenty of miles. I wish I could give you a definitive answer. But this is the best info I have gotten. I would say you will have to keep any footwear very thin. I wear water shoes of pool shoes year round and they are just thin neoprene with rubber soles. If you find yourself in North Alabama we can put you in one to test the fit.
JReed
Thanks Jim. No I hadnt seen that but am incouraged by the response. Where in North Alabama? I used to be stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. As to shoes I am a big fan of Five Fingers they should be fine for kayak shoes.
