I am considering writing a series of articles on Fuselage Frame boat for use on web sites such as, Duckworks. I want to promote Fuselage Frame boat building and of course promote my business too.

First article is in the works, it's just a basic what is Fuselage Frame and what are the advantages.  I am thinking ahead to other possible articles and wanted to ask you guys., what would you like to have known (or know) about this type of boat? Maybe there was something you didn't know when you started building. You considering building one and something you would like to know more about.

I may not write on that topic but I am interested in the suggestions.

I would have liked to of known how fun they are to build and paddle years ago.....You can't promote this type of construction enough...

You don't have that much time and $ in a boat if you decide the design isn't quite right, or you want more than one....

Just think of the time people spend on cedar strip boats... and if they aren't satisfied with it when they're done

I wish I had known years ago how simple and inexpensive SOFs are to build. As Woodman said, you can experiment with designs without going broke. I had wanted to try a very narrow boat, but didn't want to spend two or three thousand dollars to buy one (I know most dealers offer demos. but it takes several days of paddling to really get to know a boat). My first SOF was a 20 inch x 17.5 foot experiment. Glad I didn't spend much on it, but It's fun for an occasional outing. My next one will be your Curlew because I'm interested in a boat with low wetted surface for casual cruising. Then there'll be a rowing boat and maybe a double

It would also have been good to know that building SOFs creates a kayak storage problem.

I wish I'd known my high school sweetheart was a sociopath before marrying her.

Has anyone tried a spectra skin, maybe over carbon tubes as the frame? I've just done some calculations, for a buddy that's interested in a super light SOF, with near zero stability kayak and the prospect with this method, suggests unbelievably light.

Boy, it's hard to say what I  wish I had known, because I went into it not knowing anything about it.  I had never built anything like it before.  For a novice like me to be able to buy the book and with some help from this forum, build one with out a kit says a lot about your book and the simplicity of these boats.  I guess the only thing I wish I had known, was to know all this years ago when I was younger.  I'd had one years ago!
