I found this on another forum... The guy was paddling this past monday.. Veteran's day.....over by Kaw Point..where the Kansas river meets the Mo.....This is Kansas City Kansas..about 30+ miles from where I live...

I once got anchored in on a deserted part of the Ohio river, got the grill going, a cold one mixed only to have to leave. There was automatic gun fire on the shore with a lot of shouting. I was afraid after a few more drinks they might start trying to shoot the lights out of my little boat!!!
