The Ravenswood frame in my basement is almost complete. Using frame 13'-6" (which is part of the bow assembly) as-is, the chine stringers swept down from 12'-0" to 13'-6". For a fair run of the chines, I cut the chine notches in this frame 5/16" higher. Has anyone else noted the need for this modification?
Thanks, Andy A

I found the frames worked perfectly as drawn.

Without seeing it this is just a guess, but sounds like frame 13'-6 was to low or 12' was to high. There is no reason it should be lower as long as it was cut to the plans. But again, without seeing it I am just guessing.

I make mistakes from time to time and have let plans get out with problems before. But I have never had anyone have an issue with Ravenswood so that is why I suspect there was something in the set up of the keel height and shape.

Any photos?

I'm building from a kit, not plans, so I don't know what the dimensions should be. After modification, the distance is 4" from the top of the chine to the bottom of the gunwale at 13'-6." I have a photo, but haven't figured out how to attach it here.

You can't attach a photo but you can link to one. So you have to have on one of photo sites of facebook or somewhere on the web.
