I am building a Curlew using Jeff's plans from his book. As I will be stressing the seat support quite a bit, I plan to add a partial frame immediately in front of the seat to cut down on the span of the supports. The plans call for plywood, but some builders apparently use individual stringers. What type of wood has been used for stringers and what dimensions are the stringers? Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

A couple of the boats are designed from stringers because of the multi-chine shape. Plywood is not a good option in those.
Plywood is stronger and less likely to break than solid wood, don't underestimate it.

Thanks, Jeff. I appreciate the quick reply and will use plywood.
