Frank the new tool bar at the bottom seems to be affecting the speed of opening and accessing thumbnails as well as an annoying way of getting in the way of images sort of thing too. Is there a way of turning this function off?

Yeah, I didn't like it on the forums either, so I removed it. You may have to refresh your browser to make it go away.
