Frank Hagan
"good" and "cheap" probably don't play together well when using silicone bronze, but Jamestown Distributors has a good selection ... here are #8 silicon bronze screws. At .165 each, they aren't cheap.

Oyster
Frank, thats Silicon Bronze fasteners, something that I continue to be called on when typing in those discussions. Its a natural for sure. I have purchased them from Southern Crown Boatworks by the piece, something that I have been unable to do so from Jamestown. Thats a husband and wife team in Georgia. Leave a message and tehy wil call you back, but not always right aways, since they are hands on folks. But their service has been superior. A caviat is that no matter how the fasterners are being advertised, none are made in the U.S.A, only threads are cut and still few are done so. So if you are using them in hardwoods, test the smaller ones for stress and wringing on simular woods. Use soap or vasaline on the tips too after counterboring the holes with the proper countersinks. http://www.southerncrownboatworks.com/contact.htm Southern Crown Boatworks 3116 Chestnut Drive Atlanta,GA 30340 Toll Free (800) 746-3857 Local (770) 454-8798 Fax (770) 454-9282
Joel
Try Mcfeelys square drive silicon bronze cut thread "Boatbuilders screws" I had great luck with these. Good quality, I only broke 2 or 3 during my entire Weekender build. http://www.mcfeelys.com/651-silicon-bronze

PAR
McFeelys has a fine selection and the square drive beats all. Their cut thread boat screws are first class. Southern Crown also has a good selection and slightly better prices. http://www.southerncrownboatworks.com/catalog.htm
