ulpilotrmh
Finally, after months of screwing around, I finally have the boat at the 3D stage. It's all wired together, and I'll start epoxying as soon as I make a forward bulkhead that fits. Russ[attachment=1][attachment=2]
lbrewer
Cool! Going 3D is my favorite part of the whole process. The novelty never wears off!

ulpilotrmh
Unfolding the boat is a geat feeling isn't it? Getting it unfolded without the glassed bottom and side pieces cracking apart is sweet. Took 3 tries before I got it right, thanks to stiff temporary bracing screwed across the joints. My wife was my helper. I had tried to explain how the flat sheets of odd shaped plywood were going to Morph into a boat, but she wasn't getting it. You should have seen her face when it happened. I believe most folks would have to see it happen with their own eyes before they'd believe it. Russ
lbrewer
I had read in several posts that sometimes the glass would crack. Because of that, I used 6" biax 45/45 on the joint and it never even creaked. I don't know if it would be worth buying it specifically for that, but it worked well in my case. Greg Luckett
Good going Russ! This is one of the milestones to building a boat...when it goes 3D. The idea really sinks in to folks that you are building a real boat and they then move you into the "admirable but wierd" catagory. Welcome to the gang! ;D
