Ken_Potts
Hey Dave, In that first picture you posted I was caught sailing with my motor in the water (the second picture too if you look closely). I knew somebody would bust me on that but I didn't think it would be my own crew! ;D

Ken_Potts
Wow! All those detail shots of Peter's boat. The seats on Miss Stephie are the coolest ever. Do I see rumble seats on Chic's Lobsterboat (I missed that while I was there)? I've got to agree about the "Best pic" though. That's a group of people who are having a good time ;D I hereby officially nominate Paul for the position of '08 B and B Messabout Historian. John Burritt
Paul- The boat you labeled as a CS15 is actually a Bay River Skiff 15. There was a CS 15 under the shelter up by the shop, but I don't think it made it to the water. All the pics are great. Can't believe the range of boats that were there. paul_stewart
John, I wish I had spent more time looking at that BRS15! Anyway, it sure sailed gracefully. My apologies for thinking it was a CS15. Thanks for the correction. Label changed. Was that you in the BRS15 ? Your BRS15 ? I think I've got the faces matched to the boats, but I'm still working on remembering/learning many names correctly. So little time, so many wonderful sailors and boats. We just gotta have another B&B mess-about! --Paul
Oyster
Don't sweat it Paul. You done good. If that was left to me, I would have only had the picture numbers associated with the photos. ;D ;D You have now been awarded the Golden Photo Award. John Burritt
Paul- The BRS15 belongs to Marty. He got it from a neighbor/friend of mine who built most of it in Graham's class. It finished its "birthing pains" in my shop a few years ago so it could make its debut at the Beaufort boat show. I'd finished Miss Stephie a bit before that. dale
Somebody give me the scoop on Nemo. Looks like a really nice boat.
Ken_Potts
I believe Nemo's a Freedom 28. Owned by Crazy Russian of Watertribe fame. He was in transit to New York when the crowd descended upon that previously peaceful dock. Shallow draft, drop keel, cat ketch. Hmm, what else? calidris
I had a wonderful time at the Messabout! I didn't take too many pictures--I had too much fun talking and sailing--but here's a link to the pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/martywarner2/08BBMessabout?authkey=TwjcHrT1240# Thanks to Graham and Carla for all their work. paul_stewart
[from different thread] Wes, We missed you last weekend. Here is Brent with his staysail flying. Graham, great pic of Brent's "Active Imagination"! Marty, good one of Tom Lathrop --and the Lapwing! --Paul
Brent
I enjoyed visiting with old friends and making new ones. It was great to spend time with people who share passion for these fine boats. Highlites for me: Meeting people face to face that I have shared this space with. Seeing other peoples fine craftsmanship put into their boats. A very fine group of craft we have. Ken_Potts
Shucks! I missed the dolphins. Now that I think about it I wonder how much we all missed while our cameras were trained faithfully on Lapwing... Talk about a movie star... Nessie Might have surfaced behind any one of us while we were on the water and we would have missed it because our cameras were all trained on that sweet little boat. Rod Thompson
Thanks to all of you who have shared pictures and video of the messabout. Watching from afar it is nice to be able to put some faces to names. Enjoyed seeing the detail on the boats. Lots of inspiration for amateurs like myself. Particularly useful to me is seeing how the sails and centre board are rigged. Lot of good descriptions on this site but unless I have a book of nautical terms at my side I struggle to put it all together. Pictures worth many words as they say.
