Tom Lathrop
$17.30 for 1/4" 4X8 :!: Never seen it at that price - ever. What is going on?
Tom Lathrop
Ray, That is cheaper than 1/4 exterior fir at the local building supply.
fatehunter1972
check it out. If it is aircraft grade it will be good stuff but will probably have a different rating system. Aircraft Spruce is THE source for homebuilt airplanes, with an excellent reputation.
Rob Eades
Just got off the phone with Aircraft Spruce customer service. She had to put me on hold and call the buyer for this item. The answer I got was that their okoume is manufactored to BS 1088 standard, but is not stamped as such, and that has something to do with the large quantities they buy. I got no real answer to the odd pricing where 1/4 is less than 5/32. Do we have an Atlanta forumite who could take a look at this stuff? James Bandle
I checked with Aircraft Spruce some time back in Dec. last year and was told that their product was not marine grade and that the glue may not be water proof. PAR
I've been under the impression that all of the aircraft grades were not WBP adhesives and unsuitable for the marine environment. If it was BS 1088, you bet your bottom dollar they'd stamp it and price it accordingly too.
John Turpin
Agreed. If it's not stamped, it's not.
