alexscott
In the list of EC 17 participants there is 'Nomadic' (aka Alexander Mehran Jr) and 'Rover (aka Drew McMillan) with a Turbo CS 17. What is a Turbo CS 17? I have searched the forum with no joy. Alex
PeterP
My guess would be Teflon bottom paint - makes the boat slide off the trailer 3x faster. Lots of hype in these 5MPH races. Just guessing though. PeterP
Alan Stewart
Im Guessing that must be La Perla built by Philip Garland. Sailed by him and Dan Neri in 2013 EC. Here's an album of the boat as it was on the beach in 2013. They came in right behind us and we were neck and neck all the way to Flamingo that year. The turbo was for the extra sail area of the custom square top sails and addition of small jib and spinnaker. Mizzen mast was overbuilt and they could actually trapeze off of it. https://goo.gl/photos/sAag7PQ3kDYQErmg8
PeterP
Shazam, that is a nice piece of kit! Bit more than Teflon paint on that boat. What I am really jealous about are the wishbones. Mine did not work out at all and I am way too tired/busy right now to work up another-better set. PeterP
Paul356
Another testament to the genius of the 17 hull and rig design.
Randy Jones
Anyone know if they fly the staysail and spinnaker at the same time?
